Buildings fitted with standpipes and automatic sprinkler system shall have access ways for pumping appliances within 18 m of the breeching inlet. The breeching inlets shall be visible from the access ways.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>DOOR SWING<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nDoors must typically swing in the direction of egress travel when serving;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A High-Hazard occupancy of any occupant load.<\/li>\n<li>Any occupancy type with an occupant load of 50 or more occupants (consult the code for exceptions).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>EXIT, EXIT ACCESS, EXIT DISCHARGE<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nMeans of egress is broken into three parts, the exit access, the exit, and the exit discharge.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An exit access is a door in the means of egress that leads into the safety of an exit.<\/li>\n<li>The exit, itself, can be either a protected corridor or a protected staircase leading to an exit discharge.<\/li>\n<li>The exit discharge is the travel between the door at the end of the corridor or stairway and the public way. The door, itself, is usually thought to be part of the exit and not the exit discharge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>EMERGENCY VOICE COMMUNICATION<\/strong><\/span> Emergency Voice Communication (EVC) ia a system that is interlinked with the fire alarm to give evacuation or emergency messages throughout the premises for all occupants.
