Project: Qatar Power Transmission System Expansion - Phase 8
Project Description
This is a project of KAHRAMAA or Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation involving the installation of high voltage power underground cables to boost the electricity transmission system in the northwest area of Doha City as a response to its increasing power demand.

Project Overview
Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) plans to expand Phase VIII Power Transmission System, the complimentary phase of Phase VII. The purpose of the project is to increase the capacity and meet Qatar's increasing demand for electricity. Phase VIII project comprises 4 packages (substations, cables, over head lines and consultancy services) covering 5 areas (Al Siliyah, Ras Laffan, Doha, Bani Hajir, Al Khissa) to transport Ras Laffan C power plant production to Qatar's national grid. The substations package, divided into 10 sub-packages, calls for the construction of 32 substations with capacities ranging between 400 KV and 66 KV).
